BIG 5: THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
...about old age

In a recent discussion between GaGa and Judilee the question of age was brought up.

QUESTION: "You are both in your seventies and this is a first book. Is this the way you have lived your respective lives? Trying new things?

ANSWER: Nope. We're both pretty run of the mill, old, retired women. AND our first book hit FINALIST in the Colorado Author League Awards for 2021 and also in the Colorado Independent Publishers Awards, 2021. Yeah! Yeah Yeah!

QUESTION: You've written one book and now the second in this series has hit Amazon. What has this writing taught you?

ANSWER: 5 things we now know:

01:

YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO BE A BEGINNER

Writing The Last Hurrah and The Last Slide, we discovered we were beginners! So don't wait. Get out there. Try the new things. Don't worry about breaking a hip or anything else. Besides, people like to help old folks.

02:

SHE SUSPECTED SHE COULD, SO SHE DID!

Remember it's perfectly acceptable to put your toe in first. This baloney about doing the "cannonball" for a start is...well...just baloney. Go ahead, dip the toe, Sister!

03:

GUT INSTINCT DOESN'T START AT 70. LISTENING TO IT DOES...

Something tells me I should: Try it. Use it. Take the offer. That nagging little something is your gut instinct. Use it.

04:

"LEAP AND THE NET WILL APPEAR."

Thank you, German Philosopher Goethe for this very useful comment. If it's sure temptin'—take the leap! Trust in yourself. An ex-husband told someone, (not us, just repeating what we heard) "What's the worse that can happen? You could fail? So?"

05:

CHANGE HAPPENS! USING IT IS OPTIONAL.

New things come along everyday. New motto, "Every day's a new learning curve". Do you need it? Want t' try it? Can you figure it out? Totally up to you.
